LeRoy E. Lyon, Jr. was born in Orange County, California, educated at the University of Southern California and served in the military during World War II and at the truce talks of the Korean War. In the late 1940's and early 1950's Mr. Lyon became active in Young Republicans and worked in Richard M. Nixon's 1950 campaign for the U.S. Senate.
